Location

Guests staying at Heatherdale Properties enjoy a warm welcome and comfortable stay with us. The location is an ideal base for exploring all of Wester Ross, situated close enough to all local amenities, but secluded enough to enjoy privacy and tranquillity.

Hill walkers will be spoilt for choice with the Torridon Mountains to the south, the Assynt range to the north and plentiful low-level walks to suit everyone with the Beinn Eighe mountain and nature trails being one of the most popular.

From Gairloch harbour boat trips of all types are available for sailing around local islands, watching marine wildlife or sea-angling, and there are pontoons available for those who wish to bring their own boat.  A short walk will take you to a beautiful golden sandy beach which nestles beside a challenging 9-hole golf course.

Other popular local attractions include the world famous sub-tropical Inverewe Garden at Poolewe, countless unspoilt sandy beaches, a pony-trekking centre, and the award winning Gairloch Heritage Museum.

There are sports and fitness facilities available at Gairloch Leisure Centre and an indoor swimming pool in the nearby village of Poolewe.  If this all sounds too strenuous you can simply relax on the terrace overlooking the harbour and listen to the busy woodpeckers in the trees around.

While staying in Gairloch you will find a great choice of pubs and restaurants, which specialise in sea food dishes and other local fare, the nearest one being The Old Inn, just a five minute walk from Heatherdale Properties.  There are also many coffee shops, gift/craft shops and art galleries in the area.

The nearest small convenience store (open 7 days a week), post office and two art galleries are within five minutes walk, while you will find two other grocery stores, a delicatessan, and an award-winning butcher's shop in Strath.
